Honour Principles :

Former Legionnaires' Honour Principles.

1. Former Legionnaire, I'm proud to have served with honour and loyalty

2. Every legionnaire and former legionnaire is your companion, whatever his nationality, race and religion. You must show solidarity with him as if you were from the same family

3. You must show solidarity with him as if you were from the same family

4. Like when you were a legionnaire, honesty and loyalty must guide your life.

5.Your gait and behaviour must be exemplary, you have to stay humble, stand against easiness and must respect dignity of other people.

6. You have to give attention not to implicate The French Foreign Legion in politic acts.

7. In my place I'm proud that my relationships consider me as a former legionnaire.:

Legionnaire's Code of Honour.

1. Legionnaire, you engaged yourself to
serve France with honour and loyalty

2. Every legionnaire is your companion,
whatever his nationality, race and
religion. You must show solidarity with
him as if you were from the same family

3. You must respect traditions and
consider your chefs. Discipline and
freindship are your powers, courage
and loyalty are your qualities.

4. You are proud to be a legionnaire
and you must show it in your elegant gait.
You behave with dignity and modesty,
your must be organized and clean.

5. As a crack soldier, you have to train
strictly and preserve your health. You
must take care of your weapon as
if it was your most precious possession.

6. Your goal is sacred, you must engaged
yourself until the end, respecting
laws, war uses and international conventions,
and if necessary lose life for it.

7. When fighting, you act without resentment,
you must respect beaten enemies,
you must never abandon your companion
wether they are wounded or death,
neither your weapons.
